About the Position
Nankind 'VIRTUAL' > Greater Toronto Area, ON, Canada, including Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Virtual
THIS IS AN EXCITING, HIGH-IMPACT, WORK-FROM-HOME OPPORTUNITY!

Volunteers (Nanny Angels) provide free 'VIRTUAL' specialized childcare support for mothers who have been diagnosed with cancer, for those requiring palliative care and for families requiring additional relief during the bereavement period. Nanny Angels lessen the impact of cancer on families, by virtually (over the phone or through video conference) engaging children in enjoyable, age-appropriate activities to help reduce any stress or anxiety they may be experiencing as a result of their mom's illness or death. Through weekly interactions, building trust and having fun, Nanny Angels help mothers gain the confidence and peace of mind to rest and take better care of themselves, knowing their children are cared for and meaningfully engaged by knowledgeable and compassionate volunteers.

Nanny Angels receive specialized training in children's grief and bereavement and receive the support of NAN's Child Life Specialist.

How you can help:
+ Provide fun, educational, creative and safe experiences for the children
+ 6 MONTHS minimum commitment to ensure support during the duration of a mom's cancer treatment and recovery
+ WEEKLY: 30 minutes to 1 hour of consistent childcare 'virtual' support to the family you're 'matched' to

Volunteers are matched with families based on compatibility and location within the Greater Toronto Area.

Nanny Angels create a unique experience that is both supportive and engaging to children living with mothers facing cancer
