About the Position
Elder Help Peel Brampton

  • Shifts are 2 hours long

  • EHP is usually assigned 1 to 2 scheduled shifts per month

  • Usually scheduled Saturdays, 12:00pm-2:00pm and/or 2:00pm-4:00pm however, the day and time may change occasionally - occasional week days, week nights, holidays

  • Shifts will be available with notice to all volunteers

  • Volunteers work in pairs (2) per assignment not alone at the bingo hall

  • Walk around the bingo hall to clear and wipe down tables during and after bingo session

  • Push in chairs after session has ended

  • Occasionally, help call out/identify winners

  • Greet and hold doors open for Bingo Hall patrons

  • Ready to provide helpful information about the Bingo Hall and its sessions, if asked

  • Assist accessibility for customers with disabilities

  • Assist staff with event/session logistics (e.g., assisting with occupancy count to manage capacity limits)

  • Thank patrons for coming

  • Direct Bingo Hall negative 'customer service' issues directly to the Bingo Hall coordinator and/or staff.

  • Confirmation of hours completed and/or reference letter (provided upon request), after a minimum of 20 hours have been completed


  • Minimum Age: 20

  • Provide excellent customer services to patrons

  • Have a friendly, engaging personality, and confident in your interaction with members of the public

  • Ability to stand/walk about the Bingo Hall for approximately two (2) hours

  • Punctual, reliable, able to volunteer with a minimum of supervision

  • Adhere to an agreed bingo assignment shift

  • Committed to abide by Bingo Hall policies and procedures

  • Committed to comply with COVID-19 and other health and safety procedures required the by the Bingo Hall



OTHER REQUIREMENTS




  • Must have own vehicle or use public transit to/from Bingo Hall

  • Record monthly volunteer hours using our online fillable timesheet

  • Adherence to OCGA & Bingo Hall Dress Code Guidelines: receive a golf shirt to wear during your shifts, black pants (no jeans) and closed toe shoes required.

Online Training: Complete a compulsory 20 minute OCGA online training session prior to being scheduled for first bingo assignment.



In-person Training: Shadow an experienced volunteer at the bingo hall for the first three bingo assignments.
