About the Position
Armagh 'Virtual', from the Board Treasurer's residence, unless otherwise indicated Mississauga, Virtual

The Board Secretary will be responsible for non-operational Armagh business, such as, but not exclusive to, documentation of board business, directors’ attendance at board meetings, directors’ police checks, and they shall have such other duties as the board or the president may prescribe.

- Assume a key role in Armagh, a community service organization that assists women and children in extremely important ways

- Learn about gender-based violence issues (i.e. abuse of women in relationships, children, ways and means to assist)

- An opportunity to help create change and raise awareness for those experiencing gender-based violence and for those fleeing violence. 

For the key 'role' of Board Secretary, the ideal candidate will possess the following:




  • Excellent communication, time management, and organzational abilites, with attention to detail

  • Commitment/ability to serve on our Board of Directors for a term of 3 years

  • The individual will have a keen interest in, and commitment to, our mission and vision (see GOAL above)

  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check required (because of involvement with vulnerable women and children)



PLEASE NOTE: The requirement of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check will be discussed at an early stage of the applicant screening process.
