Position Description: Under the supervision of Community Living Mississauga (CLM) staff, volunteers will be an encouraging friend, supporter, and role model to youth aged 13-21, while they take part in a number of different recreational activities throughout Mississauga.

Volunteers will make a commitment to volunteer for the full week (Monday-Friday) from 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Volunteers will complete Community Living Mississauga's Orientation and Training and agree to follow the Volunteer Policies and Procedures.

Goal of Position: Community Living Mississauga (CLM) welcomes volunteers because we believe that volunteers can help us with our mission of providing support to individuals who have an intellectual disability to ensure their quality of life is meaningfully improved. Volunteers help build strong, resilient, and inclusive communities. And as the result of volunteering, our volunteers enrich their own lives.

The 'March Break Program Volunteer' will support youth who have an intellectual disability to fully participate in various recreational activities throughout the community in order to enjoy all that March Break has to offer youth in Mississauga.

Training Details: After attending an in-person interview, providing 3 personal references and signing a Volunteer Agreement, volunteers will attend a 2.5 hour Orientation and Training Session.
Position Qualifications: ● Minimum age - 15
● Minimum school grade level - Grade 10
● Commitment to FIVE (5) FULL DAYS during March Break, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, daily
● Friendly, engaging, with ability to motivate and encourage
● Well-developed oral communication skills
● Committed to adhere to CLM policies and procedures
● Ability to volunteer with minimal supervision
● Punctual, reliable, organized
Time Commitment: Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon, Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon
