Goal

The Dream Never Dies Foundation is a charitable not-for-profit organization with the mission of increasing financial support for deserving students, particularly in the field of aviation. By awarding scholarships to post-secondary students, the Foundation aims to create opportunities for dreamers in pursuit of their passion. The Foundation has established scholarships at Georgian College of Applied Arts & Technology, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Mississauga Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Crawford Adventist Academy, Peel School Board, Peel Children's Aid Society and the Urban Pilot Network.In order to expand and enhance our principal mission within those communities where we extend our outreach, the Foundation is in immediate need of a Volunteer Web Designer. In collaboration with the executive director and support staff, the ideal candidate will have scope within which to create, develop, realize, and continually improve an attractive, informative website that targets appropriate audiences (and catchments), while promoting our mission, 'message', and ultimate outreach. Description

Our Volunteer Web Designer should expect to:

  • Engage in a thoughtful review and evaluation of the existing website
  • Become informed about The Dream Never Dies Foundation, its presence in the communities to which we outreach, the effectiveness of our mission and how it has been 'messaged'
  • In collaboration with staff, formulate an approach, ultimately a plan, to improving and enhancing our 'message' and the means by which it is dessimated online, focusing on our website
  • Implement the plan by means of revamp of our website, while putting in place effective ongoing management (incl. monitoring attractiveness) of same
  • Collaborate in other related tasks and special projects (campaigns) that involve our website

Qualifications

  • Minimum Age - 18
  • You have IT training and/or quality experience that relates directly to website design/management (ideally academic certification together with a portfolio)
  • Experience with wix.com websites is a definite asset
  • Available for a volunteer engagement of AT LEAST 4 - 6 MONTHS, preferably longer
  • You are creative, imaginative, with a flair and passion for graphic design
  • An excellent communicator, you're proficient in oral/written English
  • Open-minded, you're able to collaborate with others to achieve common objectives
  • Project-oriented, you're respectful of deadlines and ongoing commitments, plus you can volunteer with a minimum of supervision
  • Reliable access to the Internet and devices/software that are necessary for this 'role' that is principally virtual

Time Commitment
This is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment starting 2025-11-01 AND ending 2026-05-22

FLEXIBLE: It is anticipated that a 'budget' of volunteer hours monthly will be worked out as between the Foundation and the ideal candidate. The schedule will accommodate both ongoing website management and time needed to complete particular tasks (projects).


Training

ORIENTATION to The Dream Never Dies Foundation will be provided, with a focus upon the 'role' and how the ideal candidate will fulfill it.
