Goal

The goal of this volunteer opportunity is to provide transportation to our clients so that they can participate in therapuetic social recreation programs.


Description

Qualified Volunteer Drivers will use our company vehicles to pick up and return clients to our day activities at Peace Ranch.


Benefits

Do you have a good drivers abstract and love to drive? We are in need of drivers to transport our clients to and from our Peace Ranch location. Our clients are very appreciative of the drive as there is no public transit to our rural location. Your small commitment of time provides valuable access to our programing which supports our clients mental wellbeing.


Qualifications

A volunteer must possess or have completed the following in order to be able to use a Company Vehicle.
These requirements are reviewed as required by SHIPs insurance provider.

  1. Are the age of 25 or older
  2. Possess valid insurance with a minimum 1-million-dollar liability policy
  3. Possess an active (non-expired or suspended) driver’s license
  4. Have zero major convictions
  5. Completed SHIP-approved defensive driving course (once approved)
  6. Positive submission of a SHIP internal attestation form annually
  7. Confirmation that a Vulnerable Sector Check is on file (from local police detachment)
  8. Mental Health 101 Training ( online link will be sent)
  9. Must be covid 19 double vaccinated

Time Commitment
This is a Any Duration commitment starting 2024-06-01 AND ending 2026-02-01
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Afternoon

The volunteer driver will pick up company van from Peace Ranch location then pick up clients at location in Brampton, Bolton, Orangeville.

 


Training

SHIP has an on boarding process that requires volunteer driver to do an online drivers trainer course.  See the list of requirements.

A staff member would accompany you for a couple of trips so you know the route and introduced to passengers.
