Goal

Established in 1984, Caledon Meals on Wheels (CMOW) is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit agency that provides programs and services to seniors and people with disabilities living in Caledon, Orangeville and the surrounding communities.

Help support and enhance community events hosted by Caledon Meals on Wheels and our partner organizations. Volunteers will assist in various event-related tasks to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for attendees.


Description

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to assist with special events from April to December, with peak months being April, May, and June. Opportunities include:

  • Event setup and takedown
  • Registration and guest check-in
  • Assisting with activities and entertainment
  • Supporting fundraising initiatives
  • Engaging with attendees and providing information
  • Handeling concession stands
  • Other event-related tasks as needed

Shifts are available during the day, evenings, weekdays, and weekends. Volunteers can sign up based on their availability and interests.

Qualifications

We welcome everyone and anyone who is interested in giving back to the community. Whether you are a student, older adult, or part of a group, there is a role for you!

  • No prior experience needed—just a positive attitude and willingness to help
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Comfortable interacting with the public
  • Some roles may involve light physical activity (e.g., setting up tables, standing for periods)
  • Some roles may require a smartserve certfication, which we can provide a reinbursement.

Time Commitment
This is a Special Event commitment
Shifts are available Anytime

  • Events take place throughout the year, with peak activity in April, May, and June.
  • Various shifts are available (day, evening, weekday, and weekend).
  • Volunteers can sign up for events that fit their schedule.


Training

Training and orientation will be provided by Caledon Meals on Wheels and/or our partner organizations before each event to ensure volunteers feel confident and prepared.
