Goal

Connect 4 Life is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in the Region of Peel (in Mississauga). Its mission is to, "To enhance the potential of individuals with disabilities by strengthning their independence and contributions to society; and to promote positive social change by transforming public perception".The Volunteer Donor Relations Coordinator will be responsible for the overall donor program as it relates to the goals of Connect 4 Life. This includes the development of and strategies to identify annual fund donors to maximize fundraising effectiveness. The Volunteer Donor Relations Coordinator also assists with the planning and coordination necessary for successful dedicated events alongside the Fundraising DirectorThe role will be yours to fulfill and the impact of your volunteer engagement will be what you make it!

In this role, you also will serve as a member of our Board of Directors for a ONE YEAR term

 


Description

The role focuses on the overall aspects of our Donor program. You will:

  • Function as first line of contact as it relates to the 'Donor program' (follow-up contact with donors)
  • Take lead on development strategies needed to reach out to fund donors
  • Develop monthly giving campaign and set goals for achievement
  • Prepare monthly/annual donor reports for Connect 4 Life Board and other interested parties
  • Participates in the development of strategies and messaging as it pertains to the donor program and other dedicated events pursued by Connect 4 Life
  • Coordinates with the Connect 4 Life Board on the management or inquiries of dedicated events components including website, email, mailings, and 'social media' to ensure accuracy
  • Works closely with the Fundraising Director and other Board members to identify and recruit volunteers to assist with dedicated events
  • Identifies opportunities to promote dedicated events to the public
  • Coordinates with vendors and sponsors of event set up and take down arrangements
  • Develops timelines and checklists for events in collaboration with the Fundraising Director
  • Works closely with Sales and Marketing to develop social media communications surrounding corporate sponsor recognition at events
  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
  • May be required to attend Connect 4 Life Board meetings
  • Participate in events and activities as required
  • Provide support to other team members

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post secondary education (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus)
  • Proven experience as a program director - (administrative, fundraising and/or special event experience preferred)
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Working knowledge of MS Office 365 
  • Ability to build effective professional working relationships internally and externally
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi–task, stay organized
  • Presents him or herself outside the organization in a manner in keeping with Connect 4 Life’s mission statement and commitment
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Promote a team culture, leading and working as part of a dynamic team
  • Exhibit a cheerful outlook and have ability to manage difficult situations
  • Adept at problem-solving, decision-making abilities, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to comprehend and process information rapidly and accurately
  • Skilled in effectively organizing work, files, records, etc., to maintain efficient workflow

FLEXIBLE, subject to a monthly minimum commitment: Anticipate 5 to 25 hours per month (number of hours will vary, in keeping with the needs and requirements of the position)..


Training

Orientation about Connect 4 Life and Voices 4 Ability and the 'role' will be provided to the successful applicant(s).
