Goal

Embrave Agency to End Violence (Embrave) is an anti-violence organization providing shelter, counselling, and advocacy supports for women, Two-Spirit, gender queer, trans, and non-binary folks and their children experiencing any form of violence in the Region of Peel and beyond. We support survivors with, and without, children. Our organization has provided a broad range of supports to survivors of violence and contributed to thought leadership on how to eradicate gender-based violence for almost 40 years. For decades, we have tirelessly fought to raise awareness of — and end — individualized and systemic violence in our communities.Over time, our organization has grown and evolved, expanding our services to meet the needs of our communities. We’ve witnessed the diversity, complexity, and effects of all forms of violence. We know that anyone can experience violence and we believe that everyone deserves a life free from violence. We also strive to ensure that no one is left behind.Currently, Embrave seeks to enlist 3 volunteers with a background in community leadership, who ideally reflect our policy of diversity, equity and inclusion, and who have a passion for helping those who are at risk and marginalized as the result of domestic violence, to serve on to our very active Board of Directors. Please read the DESCRIPTION and QUALIFICATIONS (below) carefully, and you can access our website for additional information (see Social Media, below).Embrave intends that the Board return to in-person meetings, committee work, events and fundraising as soon as circumstances permit. The role will continue to involve virtual volunteering to some degree.
