Description
Volunteers will be invited to contribute in one or more of the following areas:
- 'Branding' (augment our presence and recognition in Mississauga as an active, key player in its cultural identity)
- Web design, development, and management
- Graphic design
- Written content (print, web, and digital media)
- Media publications (preparing briefs, newsletters, eblasts, media campaign literature, etc.)
- Social media platforms (content/style/appearance - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)

Goal
The Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB), located in the Lakeview community of Mississauga, is a compelling, light-filled WWII heritage building with an essential connection to parkland, conservation lands, the waterfront, trails, and neighbourhood. This historical and cultural landmark was saved from intended demolition through the efforts of the 'Small Arms Society' (SAS), a non-profit, community-driven organization that continues to preserve and offer the building for multiple cultural uses.

SAS seeks capable, keen volunteers who are interested in participating in the development and implementation of marketing and communications tools (derivative of marketing/promotion strategies) designed to promote activities across the Arts, heritage, environment, and technology as part of our 'Creative Hub' [www.creativehub1352.ca] As part of a community programming partnership, you will have a key role in the promotion and delivery a mix of programs, projects, education and events that foster collaboration, engage the community and enrich peoples lives.

Position Qualifications
● Awareness of the SAIB and SAS vision/mission (or commitment to learn about it)
● Talent, skills, and/or experience that relates to any of the areas noted in the 'Position Description', above
● Solid oral/written English
● Comfortable in using computer software apps that are commonly employed in marketing and promotion (eg. the Internet; graphics/web design programs; 'social media' platforms; desktop publishing tools)
● Creative, open minded, together with capacity to adhere to project requirements, deadlines, and program (media campaign) parameters
● Ability to volunteer independently, as well as be collaborative within a team

FLEXIBLE work schedule.

Volunteers may expect to devote a MINIMUM NUMBER OF HOURS PER MONTH, divided between working at home and meetings/sessions at the Small Arms Building. Tasks undertaken likely will include PROJECTS (or PROGRAMS) that depend on DEADLINES and stages of completion, plus periodic reporting.

Training
Successful applicants are expected to possess skills/training suitable for the volunteering 'role'.
