Volunteers who are suitable candidates for this 'role' will collaborate with ITechSkills to make arrangements with local schools, libraries, and community centres (associations) to introduce and inform educators, other community agencies and service organizations, and the public about our services (ie. technology courses or Microsoft products):
- Promoting products and services through a demonstration as to their relevancy, need, and benefit for organizations and those whom they assist
- Use of ITechSkills materials to demonstrate the value and impact of what's on offer
- Developing and nurturing positive stakeholder relationships to establish goodwill, build lasting relationships, and promote beneficial 'word-of-mouth' in our local communities

ITechSkills Academy is a not-for-profit, community-based organization committed to assisting individuals to enhance their knowledge of Information Technology (IT) either for employment or in their day-to-day life, using technology with a focus on individuals who identify as new immigrants, First Nations, Inuit or Métis, racial minorities, women or youth and persons who were previously incarcerated. Our principal aim to enable individuals to upgrade and update their skills to participate and integrate more fully in Canadian society, by assisting them in acquiring the technical skills needed for their careers and to achieve self-determination, as well as economic, social and political equality.

We seek at least 2 capable, committed volunteers to help us make aggressive inroads into our local communities through a campaign of information about, and promoting enduring awareness of, the IT services/products that we provide, and how our offerings are relevant to the needs of (and will benefit) various constituencies in need. We look to develop solid support, so that our services will reach those residents (identified above) whom we are mandated to serve.

Position Qualifications
● Proven experience in 'marketing & promotion'
● Excellent knowledge of MS Office & IT software
● Highly motivated and target driven, a confident 'closer'
● Excellent communication and negotiation skills
● Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
● Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to particular audiences
● Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

FLEXIBLE, recognizing that our volunteers are expected to meet the targets/deadlines of the campaigns that have been undertaken, with time spent in-the-field and at our offices:
Monday to Friday
from 9 am to 1 pm (4 hours, daily)
from 5 pm to 9 pm (4 hours, daily)

A comprehensive information session will be provided during the first week, and this will include a thorough briefing about our available services and educational courses.
