As a 'Group Leader', you will enjoy learning effective, meaningful advocacy, plus you will have the opportunity to utilize your leadership skills and experience in defining your 'role' in collaboration with those who share your passion to bring an end to extreme poverty in the community where you live. Specifically, you will:
- Start and maintain a local group in your community or campus by recruiting members (a group should ideally have at a minimum 4 members)
- Organize monthly education & action meetings in sync with our monthly calls to action
- Take action alongside fellow group members on the current campaign
- Coordinate the logistics of the group (meeting venue, email correspondence, follow up, etc.)
- Promote and raise awareness and invite individuals to join your group
- Manage, monitor and organize group activities (fundraisers, socials, etc.)
- Report on the group's members actions on a monthly basis
- Communicate regularly with Regional Leader for guidance and support
- Ensure sustainability of group by empowering others to take leadership within the group
- Take part in opportunities like webinars and logistic calls

Our power lies in our people, ESPECIALLY OUR VOLUNTEERS, who are the unsung heroes. They are passionate, committed, everyday citizens who aren't looking for recognition, but rather want to make a difference in the lives of other people through the power of advocacy of our mission.

We're actively recruiting one or two Peel region community leaders to create and maintain a local group in each local community (Mississauga/Brampton/Caledon) of motivated and engaged volunteers who want to take action to generate the political will to end extreme poverty. We provide best-in-class advocacy support to train and coach volunteers so that they can take on the kind of advocacy that is listened to, and acted upon, and our 'Group Leader' will have a KEY ROLE in promoting and guiding this important advocacy.

+ This LEADERSHIP 'ROLE' is a great opportunity for anyone who possesses organizational skills and wishes to use these skills in real life settings to create change in the world by the eradication of extreme poverty

Position Qualifications
● You're passionate about ending poverty in the Global South and committed to lead by taking action to build the political will to end extreme poverty
● An excellent listener, you're ready to receive training and guidance that relates to effective advocacy, then use it to lead your local community group
● By applying, you're confident that you can demonstrate your leadership skills/experience in organizing and managing a local community group in 'Results Canada' advocacy
● You appreciate the importance of exceptional time management and project planning in order to achieve success in local (advocacy) projects/campaigns
● Your schedule allows you to commit to this 'role' for a MINIMUM of 6 MONTHS
● Regular reliable access to the Internet and its various communications platforms/software

FLEXIBLE: Your schedule will evolve from online TRAINING designed to lead group advocacy and targeted campaigns, the minimum hours expected of you to be determined in consultation with staff and other lead volunteers. You will be 'virtual' nearly throughout, volunteering from your home.

You will collaborate closely with fellow volunteer leaders and staff and receive training (online webinars, logistic calls, etc.).
