As a 'Group Volunteer', you will enjoy learning effective, meaningful advocacy, plus the opportunity to define your 'role' in collaboration with those who share your passion to bring an end to extreme poverty in the community where you live. Specifically, you will:
> Attend and actively participate in the monthly education and action meetings
> Take action alongside fellow group members on the current campaign. Example of actions include (but are not limited to):
- engaging with your local elected official (ie. MP, MPP, City Counsellor, etc.) by writing or meeting with them
- writing letters to the editor
- organizing events
- supporting the logistics of the group
- being active on social media
- taking part in the online community of 'Results Canada'
- fundraising
- tabling at an event to talk about 'Results Canada'
> Report on your actions to your Group Leader on a monthly basis

Our power lies in our people, ESPECIALLY OUR VOLUNTEERS, who are the unsung heroes. They are passionate, committed, everyday citizens who aren't looking for recognition, but rather want to make a difference in the lives of other people through the power of advocacy of our mission.

We're actively recruiting Peel region residents to become part a local group in your local community (Mississauga/Brampton/Caledon) as motivated and engaged volunteers who want to take action to generate the political will to end extreme poverty. We provide best-in-class advocacy support to train and coach volunteers so that they can take on the kind of advocacy that is listened to, and acted upon.

You will build a close relationship with community members and a meaningful relationship with volunteers and staff. You will be part of a community of like-minded individuals committed to creating change and you will hone and grow different skills from running meetings, communicating, raising awareness, training, and more.

Position Qualifications
● You are passionate about ending poverty in the Global South and committed to lead by taking action to build the political will to end poverty
● Definitely a 'people person', you demonstrate excellent capacity for building quality, impactful relationships
● You love to inspire, develop, and motivate others, plus you're prepared to venture beyond your 'comfort zone' to create change
● You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you're project-oriented, with a penchant for detail
● An excellent listener, you're ready to receive training and guidance that relates to effective advocacy
● Your schedule allows you to commit to this 'role' for a MINIMUM of 6 MONTHS
● Regular reliable access to the Internet and its various communications platforms/software

FLEXIBLE: Your schedule will evolve from online TRAINING to becoming involved in group advocacy and targeted campaigns, the minimum hours expected of you to be determined in consultation with staff and lead volunteers. You will be 'virtual' nearly throughout, volunteering from your home.

You will collaborate closely with staff and fellow volunteers and receive training (online webinars, logistic calls, etc.).
