Goal

At Regeneration Outreach Community, it's our mission to break the cycle of poverty in Brampton. We do this by providing accessible and thoughtful programs that instil dignity, empowerment, and a renewed sense of hope. Our Essential Care program focuses on the primary needs of everyday life, including a food bank and meals nearly every day of the year for our guests, designed to help meet the nutritional needs of those who are homeless and those who are living in extreme poverty within the city of Brampton.This program involves many volunteers who fill a variety of 'roles', all of which are essential for cooking and serving meals to our guests, including our Volunteer Kitchen Helpers/Servers.


Description

The Volunteer Kitchen Helper/Server is directly involved in cooking and preparing ingredients and meals, as well as serving food to our guests within our breakfast and lunch meals program. This role operates in shifts. See time committment below.

Regeneration regards the safety and protection of our valuable volunteers as a top priority.

Qualifications

The requirements for this 'role' are straightforward:

  • Minimum Age - 16
  • Oral English
  • Ability to follow instructions, plus be organized
  • Moderate physical activity, including standing, light carrying
  • Pair of closed-toe shoes
  • Long pants - no shorts allowed in the kitchen
  • Committed to your 'shift schedule', punctual, reliable

Please note: Weekday Mornings and Afternoons available ONLY. We do not have any weekend or evening shifts.

Time Commitment
This is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment starting 2024-08-01 AND ending 2024-12-31
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon, Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays:
> Morning Breakfast Shift: 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM
> Afternoon Lunch Shift: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
 


Training

Orientations are mandatory to attend and will be scheduled for you by the volunteer coordinator. Orientations are usually Wednesday evenings. 

After attending the orientation, you will be scheduled for two training shifts.
