A recently founded not-for-profit cultural association (2021), Caledon South Asian Association (CSAA) is expanding its presence in the Town of Caledon for the purpose of increasing cultural awareness of South Asian culture to the residents of Caledon and facilitating access to resources and help ensure accessible resources and services are available to South Asians in Caledon that they are most in need of.As part of an initiative to improve CSAA's communication/connectivity with our members and within the Caledon community, we seek a capable, committed volunteer to take on the 'role' of  Community Outreach Assistant (COA). This opportunity is ideal for someone who interested in developing effective, impactful channels of communication (using 'IT'/'social media') that will enable CSAA to keep in touch with our membership, plus reach desired audiences within the Town of Caledon.


Our Community Outreach Assistant will collaborate with the CSAA Board to establish regular/reliable means of communication with our 'members', while enhancing community outreach through effective 'brand messaging' and use of well-known 'social media' platforms. Success in this 'role' will see a marked improvement in connectivity to Caledon residents, who will become increasingly aware and ideally supportive of CSAA vision and mission.

  • Minimum Age - 18
  • Length of volunteering commitment - MINIMUM 4 MONTHS (see TIME COMMITMENT, below)
  • Solid oral/writtan English (fluency in a South Asian language is helpful for this 'role')
  • You have a background in 'customer service', 'public relations', that includes management of IT as it particularly relates to 'social media'
  • Friendly, engaging, you can confidently reach out to others in your community, and you're prepared to, and capable of, conveying the CSAA 'brand', messages, and services to the general public
  • Organized, creative, with attention to detail
  • Reliable access to the Internet (incl. devices/software) suitable for this 'role'

Time Commitment
This is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment starting 2022-08-01
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Wednesday Morning

FLEXIBLE: The ideal candidate should budget about 3 to 4 hours per week for this 'role', and some weeks may be busier (ie. completion of specific projects, events, etc.)


ORIENTATION and familiarization about the CSAA 'brand' (vision/mission/goals), plus discussion about the state of our 'IT' and our 'connectivity' to the Caledon community.
