Sai Dham Canada's principal presence in Peel Region is through our Food Bank, with our main focus being to improve the health and well-being of elderly seniors and individuals with disabilities, who are at greater risk for food insecurity by providing and delivering healthy, nutritious food to their doorsteps at anytime and at no cost. These ongoing services are possible ONLY BECAUSE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS.

Sai Dham Food Bank continues to recognize the vital importance of our 'brand', mission, presence, and 'messaging' within the communities that we serve. Our marketing team strives to drive brand awareness to appropriate, responsive (supportive) audiences, thereby contributing to a sustainable community service model by obtaining monetary and food donations. The Sai Dham Food Bank marketing team also undertakes aggressively the important task of securing brand partnerships and collaborations. Plus, our essential goal in marketing is to retain clients by checking in on them and promoting our new services to them, so they feel confident about our services and are fully aware that we have more to offer. 


Marketing Outreach Volunteers are engaged in this important 'role' to:

  • Promote Sai Dham Food Bank to companies and businesses within the communities we serve, as well as to existing and prospective donors and clients
  • Create a 'network' with local businesses and larger companies for the purpose of successfully soliciting monetary and food donations
  • Identify and encourage corporations that are actively involved in initiatives that relate to 'corporate social responsibility' (CSR), to include Sai Dham Food Bank
  • Develop/implement channels through 'social media' (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) that are an effective means of outreach into the community to obtain financial and other support
  • Act 'in person' as ambassadors of our 'brand'

SCREENING of applicants will be virtual, unless otherwise advised.

This opportunity also allows the volunteer to gain leadership skills, have an improved cross cultural awareness, and have a feeling of satisfaction by doing something great in helping others. 


  • Minimum Age - 18
  • You have 1 to 2 years experience in 'marketing & communications', 'public relations' (resume required / 1 personal, 1 professional reference)
  • Strong oral/written communication skills (primarily English, and fluency in additional languages is welcome)
  • Friendly, outgoing and engaging personality, and you are comfortable public speaking
  • You're a strong team player, collaborative, plus you can volunteer independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check and Proof of Vaccination required
  • Driver's Licence required
  • Able to comply with our organization's health & safety rules/procedures, incl. those that may be necessitated by COVID-19

Time Commitment
This is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment
Shifts are available Anytime

FLEXIBLE: Scheduling will be based upon volunteering mornings into the afternoon, Monday through Friday. Weekly hours may vary, due to special projects, events, outreaches, incl. campaigns.


ORIENTATION and TRAINING will be provided as soon as applicants are accepted. Also, ongoing supervision will be provided, if required.
