Goal

Community Alliance for Support and Empowerment (CASE) is a not-for-profit organization which builds socially-stable and engaged communities through the recognition of Individual uniqueness and enhancing people's capabilities. Our programs are geared towards inspiring people's lives, building and empowering individuals regardless of age, race, culture, religion and other social locations.CASE needs to promote itself, its vision and mission within the community that it serves, raising its 'profile' through the Internet and 'social media'. Critical to this is development and implementation of a quality website, and we seek a capable volunteer to help us make our website (presence on the Internet) a reality.


Description

● Initial engagement with CASE staff and stakeholders to establish a framework for our website, then formulate a plan that incorporates all the needed elements (features), with timeline for 'roll out'● Select (or design) a template that will meet our needs/objectives, particularly one which effectively conveys our 'message' and is 'user friendly'● Assemble appropriate content (incl. words and graphics)● Create website layout/user interface by using standard practices● Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs● Utilize 'coding' where necessary to meet technical requirements and achieve high functionality● Interface 'social media' platforms (eg. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, WordPress) to broaden and amplify public access to our website, promoting interaction and communication ('conversation')● Put in place procedures for website and 'social media' maintenance Submitting a resume when applying for this 'position' will be helpful. Qualifications

● Post-secondary degree/diploma in website and/or computer software development or a related field● At least 1 year of in-the-field experience (or successful completion of an internship, with a reference)● Resume should include examples of your work with reference to website creation/management● Given the nature of the role, the successful volunteer applicant should be prepared to engage with CASE for the period necessary to complete its website project and complementary undertakings (est. at least 6 months)● Strong oral/written English● Committed to understanding CASE's vision and mission, and to conveying its 'message'● Proficiency with computer software (ie. Drupal, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, and AJAX)● Familiar with 'social media' platforms and their interface with websites, etc.● Ability to be collaborative, thoughtful, creative, plus organized, with attention to detail● Project-oriented, able to accomplish tasks independently and respect timelines and deadlines

FLEXIBLE volunteer schedule (This is a project-oriented role that will entail both independent engagement and periodic meeting with CASE staff/stakeholders at its office or elsewhere, the schedule based upon achievement of 'milestones' and deadlines for completion.)
