Position Description: Volunteer Drivers transport children to and from appointments, school, special events. and parent and family visits. Minimum requirements is for 1 year commitment.

Goal of Position: Peel Children's Aid values the efforts of volunteers to help reach the children and families who need our help. Volunteers play an important role in the lives of those we serve. By contributing your time and talents to activities such as driving and assisting with family on safe transportation visits, you make a positive impact on families, their children and their future.

'Volunteer Drivers' assist families and children with safe, reliable travel to and from appointments and other engagements/occasions.

Training Details: Includes Car Seat Training, Driver's Roundtable
Position Qualifications: ● Must be a resident of Peel
● Minimum age - 18 years
● Length of volunteering commitment - Minimum of 1 year
● Police Check required
● Valid full 'G' driver's licence
● Clean driver's abstract
● Access to a vehicle which carries adequate liability insurance
● Committed to proper, safe transport of infants in child car seats and booster seats that comply with Ontario law
● Access to 'direct deposit' for the purpose of receipt of mileage reimbursements
● Friendly/engaging with members of the public (incl. young children)
Time Commitment: Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Monday Evening, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Tuesday Evening, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Wednesday Evening, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon, Thursday Evening, Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon, Friday Evening, Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, Saturday Evening, Sunday Morning, Sunday Afternoon, Sunday Evening, Anytime
Duration: Long Term (More than 6 months)
Time Detail: Monday- Friday during the daytime to take children to and from school. Other drives are also available

Specific days and hours will be mutually arranged, depending upon families' needs, volunteers' availability.
