About the Position
Community Living Mississauga Various locations across Mississauga Mississauga

Once a week from May to August, at a mutually agreeable time, volunteers will meet with a pre-assigned person to enjoy an activity of mutual interest to both parties for 12 weeks. Any costs associated with admission fees will be covered.  Meetings and activities are expected to last 1-2 hours and may take place on weekdays, weeknights, or weekends. Volunteers will be introduced to their respective matches before the start of the 12-week engagement. Some of the things that you can anticipate doing with your match include going out for coffee, bowling, watching a movie, attending a community play, going for a walk in the park, attending a special event in Mississauga, etc.



You will enjoy weekly, ongoing support from Community Living Mississauga employees when needed, AND you will perform program evaluations to gauge success after 6 weeks of volunteering, and at the end of 12 weeks.

  • Minimum Age -18

  • Volunteering commitment (12 weeks)

  • You are a friendly volunteer with an interest in improving the quality of life of a person who has an intellectual disability

  • Add to that, you're thoughtful and empathetic, with an ability to motivate and encourage

  • You come with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • You're prepared to adhere strictly to CLM's policies and procedures 

  • Above all, you believe in and are committed to the value of inclusion for all

  • PLEASE NOTE: Because the position involves close personal interaction with a person who is vulnerable, a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check is required. Community Living Mississauga is prepared to reimburse the cost of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check at the successful completion of this volunteer 



SCREENING of Applicants will be virtual (tel/email/online interviewing) unless otherwise advised.

Attend an ORIENTATION & TRAINING session where you will be given all the information you will need to make this a successful volunteer experience.
